Overview
The Multi-Purpose Sports Hall is a new underground facility that brings recreational and academic opportunities to the heart of the city campus. It is the first project to be completed under the University’s visionary City Campus Master Plan.
The sports hall is located at UTS City Campus, beneath Alumni Green and adjacent to the existing UTS Fitness Centre (CB04). For bookings or other enquiries, please contact UTS Union.

- A gym and a dance studio are located on a mezzanine level above the court

- Roof water capture tank in Alumni Green for water reuse
- Light well provides natural light for a dramatic entrance experience while also improving ventilation and mechanical services
- The air conditioning system will make use of the heat absorption within the surrounding rock
- Wall-mounted bicycle storage area for students
Design features
- Design concept makes use of the site’s natural sandstone texture and colour.
- Exposed rock-face becomes one of the principal features of the space.
- A dramatic light well defines the entrance area.
