Project description

The proposed Thomas Street Building will mainly service the UTS Faculty of Science. The building will offer research, teaching, learning, and social spaces for the faculty, as well as general teaching spaces and public areas for the general UTS community. Overlooking Alumni Green, the new building will be connected to the adjacent UTS Science Building (CB04), while also providing pedestrian connections to Thomas Street.

The proposal for the new building by Sydney practice Durbach Block Jaggers, in association with BVN Architecture, was declared the winner of a design competition recently held by the university. The building's design is inspired by the organic forms of a tree grove.
