About the project
This project involves upgrades to Faculty of Science academic, support staff and student accommodation to accommodate the growth of two Tier-1 research initiatives: the Institute of Biotechnology of Infectious Disease + Plant Function Biology and Climate Change Cluster (IBID and C3). The new fitout delivers a variety of research, informal and office spaces for Faculty staff and research students.
Key features
- The growth in staff, PhD students and researchers at IBID and C3 is part of the key research investment being made by UTS as part of its strategic plan
- New furniture and layouts in foyer and breakout spaces support collaborative research and learning environments
- Research student spaces are open-plan to foster informal collegial interaction and create access to light and views
- Level 6 fitout integrates a new high-performance computer room
- The fitout rationalises under-utilised administration areas to create new office spaces
