City Campus Safety and Security

Missing Persons 

    If you wish to report a UTS Student as a Missing Person, please dial 000 or City Central LAC on 9265 6499. Also, please contact UTS Security on 9514 1192 and speak to the duty Supervisor.

    Once a student has been recognised as missing by NSW Police and UTS, NSW Police (in conjunction with UTS) shall contact the Missing Person's next of kin.

    Any contact information provided as part of a Missing Person report will be registered confidentially. This information will be accessible only to authorised campus officials and may not be disclosed, except to NSW Police personnel in continuation of a Missing Person investigation.

    If information that is provided relates to a Missing Person who is under 18 years of age, UTS must notify a custodial parent or guardian within 24 hours of the determination that the UTS Student is missing, in addition to notifying any additional contact person designated by the UTS Student.

    UTS will notify NSW Police within 24 hours of the determination that the UTS Student is missing, unless NSW Police was the agency that made the determination that the UTS Student is missing.

    UTS offers a 24-hour security escort service. An escort can be arranged by contacting either Broadway or Haymarket Security Offices.

    UTS also offers a night-time return escort service between the Yura Mudang Housing Complex and Haymarket A Block Computer Labs.

    Access to Campus

    All opening hours listed below are during Semester only. 

  • Buildings 1 (CB01) and 2 (CB02): Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. After 2130 hrs and on weekends you must show University identification.
  • Buildings 3 (CB03) and 4 (CB04): Open Monday to Friday 0800-2200. Outside these hours you must use a PIN code to gain entry. 
  • Blake Library (CM05A): Refer to the UTS Library Website.
  • Building 5 (CM05 B, C + D): Open Monday to Friday 0730-2200. Outside these hours you must use a PIN code to gain entry.
  • Building 6 (CB06): Open Monday to Friday 0700-2200. Outside these hours you must use a PIN code to gain entry.
  • Building 10 (CB10): Open Monday to Friday 0700-2200 and Saturday 0800-1800. Outside these hours you must use a PIN code to gain entry.
  • Blackfriars (CC): Open Monday to Friday 0700-2100. There is no access to these buildings outside of these hours.

     

    Security Shuttle Bus

    The Security Services City Campus Shuttle Bus service is a courtesy service that is available to all UTS students and staff. The service operates in the evenings between the City Campus and nearby student accommodation.

  • Building 2 (CB02): Level 4 in between rooms 2.418 and 2.419 AND also Level 6 opposite room 2.648.
  • Building 4 (CB04): Level 2 opposite sliding smoke door adjacent to lifts, Thomas St Wing.
  • Building 5 Block B (CM05B): Street level opposite the B Block Law Moot Court.
  • Building 6 (CB06): Level 1 at the lift entrance, Car Park level.
  • Building 10 (CB10): Level 2 adjacent to ramp to open computer area.
  • Blackfriars Building 5 (CC05): At the entrance to the building.
